António da Conceição
Life Story
António da Conceição Ruas,was born in Quelimane, province of Zambézia, on 22 September 1927.
He is the son of João Manuel Serra Ruas and Maria Rita da Conceição.
He married Gracinda Cardoso da Silva, who had five children.
As soon as he completed the 4th Class of Primary School, he began working at a business firm at the age of 14. He worked in several commercial firms, namely:
Casa Ataíde, Casa Cordeiro, Casa Fernandes & H. Sulemane and Company.
He continued his studies in the day course, having graduated in Account Technician, where he subsequently served as Head of Accounting and subsequently Director General of the Zambézia Company and its associate Zambézia Comercial Lda.
Post-independence, in 1976, created a course for the training of accountants, whose examinations were submitted to the Ministry of Labor to obtain the professional portfolios. He was in the Zambezia Company until 1982.
From 1982 to 1984 he worked at Madeiras da Zambézia, and in 1989 moved to the capital of the country, Maputo, where he worked at CETA until 1994, when he retired and went to work with his son at JR Construções Lda.
In 2006 after losing his wife, a cancer victim, he wrote a book of poems dedicated to her.
