Life Story

Writer of Charrua Generation, a generation that had the ability to rethink and consolidate the marks of literary mozambicanity, Armando Artur is a native of Zambézia, Mozambique.

The poet is one of the references not only to African literature of Portuguese expression, but also to the universe of African literature.

He is a founding member of the Pan-African Writers Association. He published, from 1986 to 2019, Mirror of Days, Habit of Mornings, Foreigners of Ourselves, Days in Rise, Quintessence of Being, In the Heart of the Night, Happy Waters, Spokes of the Poet, Reinvention of Being and Pain of the Stone, and Muery – elected himself greater.

It also contains books published abroad, in addition to publications in literary journals, textbooks, anthologies and national and international newspapers. It is edited on lyrikline.org, one of the greatest sites of text and voice of contemporary universal poetry. He also has numerous studies dedicated to his poetic work. He is a Nobel laureate poet with the award Rui de Noronha 2002 (FUNDAC), the National Literature Award José Craveirinha 2003 and the BCI Literature Award 2019.

He is Doctor Honoris Causa in philosophy of art and literature at Cypress International Institute University.
