William Ismael
Life Story
William Ismael (1949-1954),was a Mozambican journalist and writer, nephew of poet Noémia de Sousa.
He was sent to Portugal at the age of nine and lived most of his life in Europe. At the age of 18, he exiled himself to Brussels, where he was until 1974.
He returned to Mozambique for a brief period, having been one of the founders of AIM, but eventually became Portugal having taken a Cinema course there, while collaborating in the «JL»As a film critic. Much of the 1980s passed it in London as a BBC journalist; there it created the weekly programme «Cultural Tribune», dedicated to African culture and which highlighted Mozambique.
In life, he published two books of poetry. He left many unpublished in various genres. This is his first work published in Mozambique.
