The Old House of Madeira and Zinc | Luís Bernardo Honwana

To the will to make fiction, Honwana always joined the need to write texts of analysis and reflection.

The book now edited – The Old House of Madeira and Zinco – contains texts of high cultural and political interest, among essays, chronicles, testimonies and testimonies, some already published in books, newspapers and national and foreign magazines, and others still unpublished. The topics covered are several, from those that interest the recent history of the country to the ever-present debate on Portuguese versus national languages, through the question of identity, literary analysis and artistic production in Mozambique, among others.

The novelty that the book brings, says the author, is to make his writings work together and "see what in this reconfiguration may eventually bring, of interesting" and also, add, of literary value, which they actually have, beyond their unquestionable actuality for understanding the Mozambican reality.
