Hospital (Counting Clinic) – ALDINO FREDERICO DE OLIVEIRA MUIANGA

ALDINO FREDERICO DE OLIVEIRA MUIANGA was born on 1 May 1950 in the district of Munhuana (Indigenous Quarter) on the outskirts of Maputo (former Lourenço Marques), Mozambique.

He studied primary at S. Miguel Archangel Missionary School and secondary at António Enes High School in the same city.

He is a medical graduate from Eduardo Mondlane University and specializing in General Surgery from the University of Zimbabwe. He was an intern of trauma at Columbia University, Missouri, USA. He is a professor at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Pretoria, South Africa.

He started writing since he was a teenager, as a collaborator in the wall newspaper in his high school. In this newspaper he published some poems of a vast work that was lost in total.

His first official publication was the short story "The Revenge of Macandza" in the Tempo weekly in 1986. It has short stories included in anthologies published in Portugal, Brazil, Mexico, Russia, Germany and France. Its publications are topics of dissertations in doctoral theses at various universities, local and foreign. He was the coordinator of the website of SAPES magazine published in Zimbabwe, where he published essays on Lusophone Literature in African countries.

He was a leading contributor to Charrua magazine, edited by the Association of Mozambican Writers. It is written by the chronicles of The Post Office of Rand, published in the weekly Jornal Domingo, Maputo. He was a collaborator of Tempo magazine, also edited in Maputo, with the chronicles Sawubona.

He was honored by the Municipal Council of Maputo in 2016 and during the International Book Fair "Resilience" in 2020, in the city of Maputo.

He is a member of the Association of Mozambican Writers (AEMO), a founding member of the Association of Writers and Artists of Mozambique (AMEAM).
