STUDENTS, parents and heads of education should be involved in efforts to eliminate drug and alcohol consumption and early pregnancies in schools, so that the future of children is not undermined.
The appeal is from the governor of the province of Maputo, Júlio Parruque, who interacted with the class heads of the 10th, 11th and 12th class during a recent visit to the district of Matutuine.
According to Parruque, educational establishments should not form men who will direct the destinations of the province and the country, and the consumption of drugs and alcoholic beverages, as well as pregnancies, undermine this effort.
He called on those in charge of the classes to also raise awareness about the prevention of HIV/AIDS, an evil that compromises the students' future.
The governor told the class heads that they should make their mission in the school and classroom worthwhile, which is to help their colleagues and not lose focus on their studies.
" The future leaders of the province and the country must leave our schools, hence the need for the commitment of students to stand out for good behavior and intelligence, to assume key positions for the development of our country soil. In our province we want exemplary students at all levels," he said.
Parruk said that betting on education is education, it is possible to quickly overcome the poverty that plagues the country.
According to his words, the students of Matutuine must love their land because that is the only way they can fight to eliminate absolute poverty.
" The students of this district must have love for the homeland, to keep alive the flame of national unity and patriotism. Our students must also dream of a better future, so it is now necessary to start building the bases", he said.
Rita Julião, head of the 12th class, said that the meeting with the governor was a gain and will convey the teachings to her colleagues.
With the teachings, as you indicated, they are more encouraged to continue their studies.
"Let's not give up studying, because we already have more strength. Together we will walk and reduce pregnancies in schools and premature unions," said António Zechariah, an 11th-class student.
