Hora Maconde – Marcelo Panguana
THE MACOND TIME
Like ironic, Marcelo Panguana's work feeds, therefore, as Edgar Allan's Poe, of this supreme irony that is defense against the tyranny of the real, especially the real historical. And precisely for this reason, Marcelo Panguana, even in the works in which the historical theme prevails, maintains this ironic awareness of the eternal movement and the infinite fullness of chaos.
Laurindos Macuacua
The stories in this book were inspired by a tragic reality that occurred in the woods of Cabo Delgado during the war of national liberation. Their author only dressed them in fictional costumes giving wings to their creativity. The book does not exhaust the perpetia of what this great struggle was, it only contributes to another reading among many others that can be presented. As someone said, the power not to forget has certainly become one of the most claimed brands of Mozambican narrative. It is above all this importance of historical retention and preservation of our memory, which must be attributed to this work.
